Humans of Stockton #spring23

“Shout out to my people in UBSS”. Casey is a Liberal Arts major with a minor in Public Health. He is involved in several Stockton clubs and organizations and it’s “been good”. However, he has had better pepperoni pizza.

“It’s honestly a struggle to balance it all sometimes.

Being able to manage class, work, homework, Sorority

and social life. I’m happy to be a part of it all; it can just definitely be stressful.”

“It’s honestly difficult to wake up for class, and to sit through my lectures without getting bored. I think preparing for exams is the hardest thing to do in college.”

“I chose Stockton because of better education. I was at ACCC, previously, I couldn't get the same kind of FAFSA as I could here. And well, my twin sister went here. I don't worry about it, but better education, I think.”

”I hope to be in the forensics field, at some point. I don't know what I'm hoping for but after I graduate, maybe out of my own house, so that's where I'm hoping to be.”

Angelo: “I wanna be a scientist and do some scientist sh*t.”

“After this, I'll get my Bachelor's and be in graduate school- getting my PhD and then working in conservation eventually.”

I think it’s been pretty cool. Everyone here is pretty nice. I don’t feel like I’m involved since I commute. But I do like how there’s so many opportunities on campus.”

“Students are the best part of the job….they keep us young. I’m a grill cook here, that’s what I do and I am a supervisor here. The students, we get to see them laugh. They keep us young here.

“We have our first home track meet on the 25th against a bunch of different schools.” Jamal is a track athlete at Stockton University with a major in Digital studies and his concentration is in video game design.

"You can achieve anything, but it's hard." Saheel, a local freshman here at Stockton University, opened up to me about some of his struggles. He feels that his biggest oppression is the things that he has yet to achieve. They make him feel hopeful that those achievements are yet to come, but only with pure determination.

"My name is Joey Hoffman Im a Journalism major and Im a senior at Stockton. The hardest thing for me in my life right now is time management Im trying to balance my academics while keeping up with my social life and other aspects of my life".

"My name is Laura Im a sophomore, my major is hospitality tourism and management studies. I really enjoy the school here im getting acclimated well and its my first time being away from home. The hardest thing for me right now is work to school balance im trying to get everything sorted out grade wise as well as working and keeping up my social life".

"To be content" is something that we all want to achieve. However, the steps and obstacles differ from person to person. For one Osprey in particular, the biggest obstacle to overcome in their pursuit of becoming content is overcoming anxiety. "I want to finish my degree and figure out my job situation before I can become content", she said. For this Osprey, getting her degree is the first step in becoming truly content in life, and a massive weight off her shoulders.
